Weekend in Berea Written on October 11, 2009, by fuzzdecay.
I had the pleasure of staying last weekend in Berea, Kentucky. It’s a quaint little town that is basically run by this cute little college. Berea is basically a free school for underprivileged Appalachian kids, where they work off their school related debt in the town by way of hospitality or traditional crafts. I found it pretty interesting, and a fun visit. Everyone there was ridiculously friendly, and it was overall just a pleasant experience. I’d like to go back at some point, if for nothing else than to have some more of the delicious brown sugar crusted salmon I had at the Boone Tavern.
